Gawthorpe Hall and Estate Block (NT)

The house was built in 1600 and restored by Sir Charles Barry in the 1850s. Sir Barry's designs have been re-created in the principal rooms. Gawthorpe was the home of the Shuttleworth family and the Rachel-Kay Shuttleworth textile collections are on display in the house. A restored 17thC estate building houses a broad programme of art and craft. Conference facility. The magnificent stone barn has now been fully restored and is open for events, exhibitions and weddings.
